IPOB: Trial adjourned till Oct 21 as Kanu absent from court

The federal High Court sitting in Abuja has adjourned the trial of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafria, Nnamdi Kanu to October 21, 2021. The Court resumed trial today without Kanu’s presence in court.
According to the prosecution counsel, M.B. Abubakar, told the court that the matter was slated for hearing and that they were ready to continue. Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, reminded the court that there was a pending application before the court to transfer Nnamdi Kanu from the custody of the DSS to the correctional center.

The judge, Justice Binta Nyako pointed out that the trial cannot continue in the accused absence since he is not available to stand his trial and defend his course.
Justice Nyako also ordered the DSS to produce the IPOB leader in court for trial.
