14 states report 251 new COVID-19 cases, five deaths
14 states including the Federal Capital Territory reported 251 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, according to figures released on Thursday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

The health agency also reported five COVID-19 related deaths.
The FCT recorded the highest number of new infections with 73 cases followed by Lagos with 46 infections, Kaduna with 27 infections, Rivers with 21 infections, Imo with 16 infections, Edo with 13 infections, Delta with 12 infections, Plateau with 10 infections, Niger with 7 infections, Bauchi with 6 infections, Kwara with 6 infections, Akwa Ibom with four infections, Benue with 3 and Nasarawa with 2.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Thursday. The health agency said the 251 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 208,404.
However, 196,123 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.
With five COVID-19 related deaths reported, the death toll from the virus has risen to 2,761, NCDC said.
It added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
