Gender allegation issue has overshadowed a qualifying game for the 2022 Women’s Asia Cup between Jordan and Iran.
Jordan FA Accuse Iran Women’s Goalkeeper Zohreh Koudaei of Being a Man
In allegation, Jordan accused their fierce rival’s Iran of featuring a man in a women’s international game and requested for gender verification check.
Iran won the game 4-2, with their goalkeeper Zohreh Koudaei subject to the accusation.
Koudaei, the Iran shot-stopper, saved two penalties as the win ensured Iran’s qualification for the Asia Cup.
This has led the Jordanian Football Association president Prince Ali bin Hussein to claim that Koudaei is a male posing as a female.
It followed the bold claim of the former FIFA presidential candidate up with a tweet that he sent to the Asian Football Confederation, calling the situation “very serious if true,” whilst demanding the association to “wake up.”
