The former Minister of Power and Steel, Paul Unongo, has urged Nigerians as well as the Federal Government not to despise Governor Samuel Ortom’s words of caution over the security situation in the country.

Unongo, said this at a stakeholders meeting held in Government House in Makurdi on Monday, dismissed the notion that the Ortom was engaging the President, Muhammadu Buhari on political grounds.

The former chairman, Northern Elders’ Forum said the governor was only doing what every reasonable man would do in this terrible circumstance.

“I will advise those who are painting the picture that Ortom is fighting a personal or political war with the President to desist forthwith.

“Ortom is only doing what every man with the thoughts of his people in mind will do. The best thing is for Mr President to listen to Ortom without bias. Those who are trying to paint Ortom badly before the president are really doing him more damage.” Unongo said.
