President Bola Tinubu has sworn in seven new ministers to his cabinet in a ceremony held today, Monday, at the Council Chamber of the State House , Abuja.
This follows their confirmation by the Senate on Thursday, where senators questioned them on their assigned portfolios and all seven nominees were confirmed after being screened individually.
The new cabinet members took the oath of office before the President after their citations were read by the State House Director of Information, Abiodun Oladunjoye.
The newly appointed ministers and their portfolios are:
Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda – Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction
Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi – Minister of Labour & Employment
Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu – Minister of State, Foreign Affairs
Dr. Jumoke Oduwole – Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment
Idi Mukhtar Maiha – Minister of Livestock Development
Yusuf Abdullahi Ata – Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development
Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad – Minister of State, Education
This swearing in follows the dismissal of five ministers by the president in a major cabinet reshuffle on October 23, after which he nominated these new officials to fill the vacancies and expand his cabinet.
