NCDC reports eight additional COVID-19 related deaths, 791 new cases across 13 states, FCT

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Thursday reported 791 new COVID-19 cases across 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The health agency also reported eight additional COVID-19 related deaths.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Friday.
According to the agency’s data, Lagos recorded the highest figures for new infections for the day with 523 cases.
The FCT reported 84 cases followed by , Oyo – 48 cases, Ondo – 35 cases, Kano – 22 cases, Borno – 16 cases, Delta – 15 cases, Edo – 15 cases, Ogun – 9 cases, Jigawa – 7 cases, Bauchi – 6, Plateau – 5 cases, Rivers – 4 cases and Bayelsa – 2 cases
The reported 791 new infections have brought the total number of confirmed cases to 246,195 while 217,509 people have recovered and have been discharged.
However, with eight additional fatalities reported, the death toll from the virus now stands at 3,066.
The agency added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
