Labour Party VP Candidate, Yusuf Datti Ahmed Advocates Killing of LGBTQ Members

Nigerian gay rights activist, Bisi Alimi, has shared a throwback video of Labour party Vice Presidential candidate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, calling for the killing of LGBTQ members.

Yusuf was a member of the Senate when the Anti-gay Bill was deliberated and passed in 2014. He was one of those who spoke in favor of the bill that was assented to by President Jonathan in January 2014.

During the plenary, Yusuf was filmed saying ”Actually such elements in the society should be killed”.

While posting the throwback video on Twitter, Bisi wrote;

This is the potential Vice President of Nigeria, he is in record here advocating that “such elements should be killed”, the elements he mentioned in the video are LGBTQI people. We need to talk about this. https://t.co/5otUW4zoXv
