Katsina confirms restoration of telecom services in LGs

The Government of Kastina State has lifted telecommunications shutdown in some local government areas of Kastina.

The Special Adviser to the State Governor on Security, Ahmad Katsina, confirmed this. “It is (lifting of the shutdown) true please,” Katsina simply replied to enquiry on the development.

Telecommunication services were shut down last September in Sabuwa, Faskari, Dandume, Batsari, Danmusa, Kankara, Jibia, Safana, Dutsin-Ma, Funtua, Bakori, Malumfashi and Kurfi Local Government Areas as part of measures to tackle security challenges in the state.

Telecom services still banned in seven Katsina LGAs -Masari

The state government had also announced other security measures including closing of Kankara-Sheme as well as Jibia-Gurbin-Baure Roads to motorists; suspension of sales of animals at markets in 14 councils and restriction of sales of fuel that is not more than N5,000 to each motorist in two stations in 14 councils.
