Hijrah: Sokoto declares Tuesday public holiday

Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 10 has been declared as a public holiday in commemoration of the Islamic New Year 1443 by the Sokoto state government.
Governor Aminu Tambuwal declared this holiday on Sunday night, after consultation and confirmation with the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Saโad Abubakar, who is also the Chairman of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs
According to the Head of Service of Sokoto state, Malam Muhammad Abubakar, Governor Tambuwal approved the declaration of the holiday in line with the statement of the Sultanate Council of Sokoto.
He also appealed to the Muslim Ummah everywhere in the country to pray for peaceful coexistence, progress, and peace everywhere in the country.
