Jose Mourinho’s team, Roma scored 10 goals in his first game as the head coach of the team on Thursday.
Recall that Mourinho was a former head coach of Chelsea, Machester United and Tottenham with laudable track records with those mentioned clubs. This once again he ignited as he’s officially unveiled last week.
The Portuguese defended his recent track record during his first press conference, and on the pitch his reign got off to an ideal start.
Roma recorded a 10-0 victory at Trigoria in their first friendly of the season against Montecatini, who play in Serie D, which is split into nine regional divisions.
Highlighting the goal-fest, Borja Mayoral scored a hat-trick, with Carles Perez, Gianluca Mancini, Riccardo Calafiori, Nicolo Zaniolo, Nicola Zalewski and Amadou Diawara also on target in addition to a Santi own goal.
Reacting and in the mood of celebrating the big win, Roma defender, Chris Smalling tweeted; “On to the next!”
On Sunday, Roman will play against the Serie B side, Tama in another friendly match.
