Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, Tested Positive to COVID-19
The Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
This was confirmed by the Governor in a statement he personally signed on Saturday.
Also, some close aides to the Governor are reportedly positive to the virus after testing the statement said.
The Deputy Governor, Kelechi Igwe, has however been directed to take charge of the affairs of the state.
The Governor despite not showing any symptoms of the novel virus have since been isolated in line with the protocols from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.
Ebonyi has recorded at least 438 cases of the virus, as of Friday evening according to the NCDC.
Also, about 357 persons have been successfully treated and discharged while three have died.
