COVID-19: Nigeria records 505 new cases in 13 states

Lagos State and twelve other states including the Federal Capital Territory reported 505 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, according to figures released on Wednesday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

NCDC also reported three additional COVID-19 related deaths. 

This was disclosed on the agency’s official website on Tuesday. According to the agency, a total of 505 new cases from Lagos, FCT, Rivers and 10 other states.

“On the 3rd of August 2021, 505 new confirmed cases and 3 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.

“Till date, 175264 cases have been confirmed, 165122 cases have been discharged and 2163 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“The 505 new cases are reported from 13 states-Lagos(275), Rivers (63), Akwa Ibom (62), Gombe (22), Ogun (8), FCT (4), Edo (3), Imo (2), Kano (1), Nasarawa(1), Sokoto (1), Jigawa (1), Ebonyi (1).” The agency stated.

It added that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
