Boko Haram Terrorists Attack Yobe Community

Suspected members of the Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād popularly known as Boko Haram have attacked Katarko community in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe state.
The gunmen invaded the village in the early hours of Thursday, but were repelled by the troops of Sector 2 Operation Hadin Kai mobilised to the community. The gunmen engaged the troops in heavy gunfire that lasted hours, causing residents to flee for safety.
Though the Nigerian Army has repeatedly said that the insurgents have been greatly decimated , Boko Haram and its offshoot, Islamic State West Africa Province, have killed thousands and displaced millions in Northeastern part of Nigeria.
Hundreds of soldiers and officers have been reportedly killed since January 2021 and at least 33 soldiers were recently killed when two explosive-laden vehicles rammed into a military convoy in Wulgo.
