A New Damn, As Adekunle Emerges LIGOSA Set 98 Chairman

A multi-dimensional builder; Mr. Adekunle Babatunde Samson, was elected over the weekend in Abeokuta as the Chairman of the 98 Set of the Lisabi Grammar School Old Students Association during the Annual General Meeting of the Association which held at the Ogun State capital of the Gateway State at a gathering which attracted major members of the association spread across several fields of human endeavours and professional discipline.

Adekunle who was the immediate past 2nd Chairman of the Association was unanimously voted into his new position.

He was elected among other executives which include- Adenekan Eunice, Vice Chairman, Ogunleye Mariam Giwa, Secretary, Ajibose Oluwakemi,  Assistant Secretary, Sofoluwe Olufemi, Treasurer, Adekoya Funmi, Welfare, Ogunfadeke Ibrahim, Financial Secretary, Omitogun Oluwaseun,  Chief Whip, Sogaolu Oluwaseun, PRO, and Oduwole Femi, the immediate past Chairman of the association as an Ex-Officio member.

In his acceptance speech, he thanked the members for finding him worthy of their trust and pledged that the new leadership will prioritize accountability, operate an open & transparent office and member’s welfare. According to him, “one of the core objectives of associations like this is to keep tabs on our members and ensure we are all doing fine. We will also create and plug in our members for opportunities for development and prosperity”.

He gave the assurances that his administration would build on the solid foundation laid by his predecessor as well as advance the curse of the association to accommodate present realities that will bolster membership pride of association.

Before his emergence as the Chairman of the frontline association, Adekunle has served the association in various official and unofficial capacities and was the Chairman of the just concluded 25th Anniversary Celebration of the association.

The new helmsman is a renowned building contractor leading the team of professionals at ABS Construction, a subsidiary of Adekunle Babatunde Samson Ventures and has completed building projects across the Southwest, Nigeria. He also chairs the Board of Adekunle Babatunde Samson Foundation, through which over 600 young students have benefited through the Adekunle Babatunde Samson Entrepreneurship Workshop aimed at empowering students of higher institutions.

He is also a life member of Junior Chamber International, where he has served through the ranks up to the rank of Development officer for JCI Africa & Middle-East. He is also an executive member of the JCI Nigeria Senate Association.
