Three repentant Katsina bandits, others nabbed for robbery and cattle rustling

The Katsina State Police Command has paraded 12 suspects, including three repentant bandits, for various offences including armed robbery, cattle rustling and kidnapping.

The three repentant bandits namely; Abdullahi Mai-Rafi,  Abbas Haruna, and Usman Hassan.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah, told newsmen at the command’s headquarters, Katsina, that the three allegedly attacked a herdsman, Alhaji Gide Suleiman, on August 11, 2021, at Dammarke forest, in the Ingawa Local Government Area of the state.

He said the men rustled 20 cows valued at N7.5m, stolen N40,000 and four handsets  from the victim.

However, they got arrested on August 24, 2021, when they allegedly attacked the victim again. They wanted to rustle another set of cows from him when the police arrested them.

Isah said the suspects confessed to the crimes, two cows and N444,000 were recovered as exhibits from them.

The police spokesman assured Nigerians that the command is dedicated to protecting lives and property; adding that the suspects will be charged to court for justice.
