The former minister of Aviation and current senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Stella Oduah, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
This is made known in a statement on Thursday by the National Director, Publicity of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Salisu Dambatta, in Abuja and titled, ‘Senator Stella Oduah dumps PDP, joins APC.’
According to the statement, Oduah was received at a brief ceremony in Abuja by the leadership of the party.
The Senator was admitted into the party by the Chairman of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, who is also the Governor of Yobe State, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni.
The statement also added that the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, the Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, and the APC candidate in the November 6 Anambra governorship election 2021 election, Senator Andy Uba were present the occasion.
Buni congratulated the defector for joining the APC and assured her of rights as all other members of the party. He said, “You will enjoy the privileges enjoyed by all members of the party because you will have a waiver.”
Oduah, in the statement, said she joined the APC family as part of the process of the changing political narratives in the South East and bringing APC to her people in Anambra.
