Soludo Commends Ndi Anambra for Supporting New Security Initiatives

Governor Charles Soludo

Governor Charles Soludo has lauded the people of Anambra State (Ndi Anambra) for their backing of his government’s new security measures, which birthed the Anambra State Homeland Security Law, the establishment of Agunechemba and Operation Udo Ga-Achi, both security systems of the state.

Soludo commended the communities in the state and their leaders who have collaborated with his administration to eradicate criminality and insecurity, at various intervention points.

According to the State’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, Governor Soludo, and the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC), ANSEC reassured traditional worshippers that the fight against fetishism and sorcery would strengthen, and not undermine, traditional worship.

The Council reaffirmed its commitment to combating evil native doctors who promote wealth without work and warned against the promotion of local charms, such as Oke-Ite and similar fetish products.

The security system Operation Udo Ga-Achi (meaning peace shall reign) launched in January by the Soludo administration, to support existing law enforcement agencies in preventing crime, is seriously gaining traction and yielding results. Like thunder, it is now striking criminals and making life unbearable for men and women who have for long been giving Anambra State sleepless nights.

In pursuit of the fight against crime, many kidnappers have been arrested and hideouts demolished, with successful raids for criminals at Ozubulu, Isiagu, Oba, and Nnewi, among other places in Anambra. Also, criminals involved in the death of Hon. Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly representing Onitsha North State Constituency I, have been apprehended.

The eight Local Government Areas, namely Aguata, Ihiala, Ekwusigo, Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Orumba North, Orumba South, and Ogbaru, which were under siege before the advent of Governor Soludo’s government, have also been freed by the security network.

Against this backdrop, Soludo averred that security, law, and order remain pivotal to his administration’s vision of a livable and prosperous homeland.
