Police Begin Manhunt for Killers of Enugu Policeman

A National Assembly lawmaker Yakubu Shehu has been declared wanted by Bauchi police command for homicide and a sum of N1 million placed as a bounty.

This is contained in the Special Police Gazette Bulletin CB: 2685/Bsx/VOL.T/4s distributed by the Bauchi police command’s spokesman, Ahmed Wakil, on Tuesday.

The wanted lawmaker is representing the Bauchi federal constituency on the platform of PRP but later defected to APC.

The circulated bulletin said the Nigeria Police Force, under the authority of the inspector general of police, Usman Baba, had declared Mr Shehu wanted.

The statement reading parts;  “in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy, causing grievous hurt, inciting disturbances of public peace and culpable homicide.” The police are seeking” anyone with valid information that will lead to his arrest for interrogation and arraignment on criminal charges.”

The bulletin provided address to be contacted as well as phone number; “…anyone with information that could assist in his arrest should please contact 08151849417 or report at any nearest police station.”

As emphasized by the security force, the effort of anyone that lead to the arrest of the wanted lawmaker would be compensated with a sum of N1 million.
