Ooni, Olubadan delegations arrive Benin Republic for Sunday Igboho’s trial

OLUBADAN AND OONI
Two delegations from Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Akannu Adetunji and the Oni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, are currently in the Benin Republic to observe the court proceedings of the Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.
This was confirmed by the Senior Special Assistant to Olubadan on Media and Publicity, Adeola Oloko. He said, “Yes, they have arrived, the delegation was sent in order to allay the fears of several people, including protesters who besieged his palace.”
He explained further, “Sunday Igboho lives in Ibadan, got married in Ibadan, rear children in Ibadan, built houses in Ibadan and as such he has the rights to be protected by Ibadan Traditional Institution within the ambit of the law just like any human being in Ibadan.”
Also, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife had set up a 28-member committee made up of notable personalities in the South-West to look into the arrest of Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho, and other burning issues relating to the South-West.
