Ogunbiyi dumps PDP

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and Osun governor aspirant in the last party primary, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, has renounced the party. Ogunbiyi also withdrew from the race for the 2022 Osun PDP governorship primaries. He cited bias and unequal treatment by the Dr. Iyorchia Ayu-led National Working Committee of the party.

Announcing his exit from the PDP in a letter addressed to Ayu, the chairman, Mutual Benefits Assurance, an insurance company, thanked the PDP national chairman for the “interaction and engagements within the party over the years.”
