Late Senator Ifeanyi Uba's Political Structures Collapse Into APGA, Endorse Soludo's Re-election

In support of Governor Charles Soludo’s re-election, over 3,000 members of Late Senator Ifeanyi Uba’s political structures have officially joined the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), where they endorsed him for a second term.

The political groups comprise the Afa Igbo Efuna, Ifeanyi Uba Solidarity Movement (IUSM), Uba Disciples, Young Progressive Party (YPP), Ifeanyi Uba’s Foundation, and Uba Nation Media Centre.

According to a report by Chiebele Obika, the decampees pledged their solidarity with Governor Soludo during a ceremony at the International Convention Centre in Awka, the state capital, attended by top government functionaries and political chieftains.

At the event, Hon. Emma Ezike of ISUM said, “We all know the late Senator Ifeanyi Uba intended for Anambra to be better, but he is no more. Therefore, we, the IUSM, decided to look into the footsteps of our former principal and concluded even before the primary election that we would join the political family that practices like us, so we joined the government of Prof. Charles Soludo.”

In his remark, Hon James Oguejiofor, the Coordinator of Afa Igbo Efuna, said, “I was privileged to be one of those who inspected your project in Anambra State; before that project, I never knew you were doing excellent work. I visited Okpoko, Ekwulobia, the Fun City, the New Government House, and all the projects.

Oguejiofor, who hails from Oraifite, affirmed that he was delighted when he saw the road construction in the area. This stirred his interest in following Soludo together with his people, which has been concluded. He also invited those in the entertainment sector, like the Nollywood industry, to join the race to return Soludo to the Awka Government House in the forthcoming November gubernatorial election.

For his part, the governor stated that APGA was the first progressive political party in Nigeria since 2002 and also hinted at his relationship and meetings with the late Senator Uba and his last encounter with him before he passed away.
