The Federal Capital Territory, Lagos and 13 other states reported 4,035 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, according to figures released on Thursday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
The agency also reported two additional COVID-19 related deaths.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Thursday. Again, Lagos state reported most cases of new infections with 3, 393 confirmed cases followed by Rivers with 260, Edo with 62, Akwa Ibom with 42, Kaduna with 39, Ekiti with 38, Oyo with 38, Delta with 31, Kano with 31, Ogun with 30, Abia with 26, Bauchi with 15, Ondo with 14, Enugu with 9 and Kwara with 7.
The 4,035 new cases of COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 231,413.
However, 211,853 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.
With two additional COVID-19 related deaths reported, the death toll from the virus now stands at 2,991, NCDC said.
It added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
