No fewer than 10 persons lost their lives in separate fire incidents that occurred in Kano in October.
The Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, made this known on Tuesday in Kano.
Abdullahi said the service received 57 distress calls during the month.
According to the statement, the service also received 13 false calls.
He added that property worth N30, 780, 000 were destroyed during the month.
He said, “Under the leadership of the Director, Alhaji Hassan Muhammad, the state fire service, in October 2021, received emergency calls from its 27 fire stations spread across the state. We received fire calls, rescue calls and false alarms.”
“We will seize this opportunity to advise the public to handle fire with care to avoid inferno, as well as to abide by the traffic law to avoid road accidents and to be vigilant on our children’s movement, more especially for local swimming in a pond, river or any other dangerous places.”
