Ex-Miss USA Cheslie Kryst, 30, Jumps from Building, Dies

A former beauty queen who represented the United States of America, Cheslie Kryst, has died at 30.

Her family and the New York City Police Department have confirmed that the unfortunate incident happened on Sunday, CNN reported.

According to the police, the 2019 Miss USA died after jumping from a building in Manhattan.

Statement from the family read, “In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie. Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined.”

Before her death, the former Miss USA winner shared a photo on her Instagram page with the caption, “May this day bring you rest and peace.

Kryst was an attorney who received three degrees from two universities. Asides from practising law, the North Carolina native was also an entertainment correspondent for Extra TV.

“Our hearts are broken. Cheslie was not just a vital part of our show. She was a beloved part of our Extra family and touched the entire staff. Our deepest condolences to all her family and friends,” Extra TV said in a statement.
