APC Alleged Rigging Plan Busted In Anambra

Published

on

As the people of Anambra goes to the poll this morning, there is an allegation flying around that the APC candidates Nicholas Ukachukwu and his running mate Uche Ekwunife knowing how difficult it is to unseat the incumbent, may have resort to self-help to grab power.   Allegedly the only language the APC candidates understand is rigging, and they have boasted of  their sophistication at it.

The two key elements of their alleged plan include –  swapping of results using compromised INEC staff; mobile police commanders, some other police officers and some soldiers. They claim to have written results and desperate to force them through the collation process. The second is violence – reportedly already imported thousands of thugs/militia into the state, and with fake police uniforms in order to run riot around the state to impose their will on the people.

The major persons allegedly fingered in the plot include: Mr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, and his deputy, Senator Uche Ekwunife, Mr. Basil Ejidike, Chief Linus Ukachukwu, Arinze Aworgu, Tony Uche, Mr Dozie Ikedife and some INEC Electoral Officers (EOs). Their security network is allegedly being coordinated by a MOPOL commander in the state.

According to multiple intercepted communications, insider testimonies, and corroborating field intelligence, the alleged scheme spans several states, involves compromised electoral officials, that will deploy both technical and physical mechanisms to manipulate voter accreditation, results transmission, and polling-day security conditions.

Below is a breakdown of the major strands of the covert operation as reported by sources familiar with the investigation.

Intelligence obtained by investigators suggests deliberate efforts to compromise Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials, particularly EOs and INEC staff allegedly posted from Ebonyi and Imo states. According to one senior security source, these officials were “strategically positioned” to facilitate manipulation of sensitive election processes.

Documents and communications reviewed indicate that deputy governorship candidate Uche Ekwunife has reportedly been in contact with the Ebonyi State APC chairman, allegedly coordinating the deployment of senior ICT personnel sympathetic to their agenda. These officials, already assigned to Anambra for the election, are said to be “on retainer” to manipulate backend data flows. Uche Ekwunife boasts that these INEC officials are “her people”.

Sources close to the investigation allege that Ekwunife boasted of receiving “extensive assistance” from a Southeast State Governor, particularly concerning technical interference in the electoral process.

More alarmingly, intelligence reports claim that Nicholas Ukachukwu allegedly procured 500 BVAS-like devices for a shadow accreditation operation designed to mirror and override official voter authentication. These “BVAS machines” are allegedly already configured to have the number of accredited voters coincide with figures in their fabricated results.

Investigators report that Anambra APC chairman, Basil Ejidike, working with an INEC staff member identified as Jessica Esiaka, allegedly inserted 400–500 fictitious names into the voter register in his own polling unit. The objective, according to the intel, is to inflate votes in favor of the Ukachukwu–Ekwunife ticket and help him to “deliver his polling unit”.

The campaign’s Director-General, Dozie Ikedife, is said to be collaborating with an INEC official known only as “Goddy” in Nnewi to procure five unregistered phones. These devices are allegedly intended to compromised Heads of Department (HODs) across some LGAs—including Ogbaru, Onitsha South, Onitsha North, Idemili North, Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Ayamelum, Idemili South, etc to coordinate illicit operations without traceability.

Ukachukwu is alleged to have  been boasting loudly that he has one one senior INEC staff— Anne Aderibigbe — in his pocket and that she has posted his allies as presiding officers and SPOs which almost caused a protest at INEC office in Awka.

Ikedife and an associate identified as Ugochukwu Orji (“Sweet”) reportedly recruited selected NYSC members to serve as ad-hoc INEC staff. These corps members, according to sources, were promised ₦50,000 each to manipulate accreditation or result entries at targeted polling units.

On Friday, 7th November, Ukachukwu allegedly held a meeting with POs and SPOs where he was said to have given each of them N70,000 with the promise of additional N1,000,000 each if they could do two things; refuse or fail to upload the authentic polling unit results to the IREV; and write the EC8A results faintly so that the duplicate copies will not be legible. This will obscure any evidence from the polling units and give them opportunity to produce their own results.

In what security officials describe as the “most dangerous dimension” of the plot, Arinze Aworgu, a former Ogbaru LGA chairman, is alleged to have assembled armed groups, including bandits and cultists imported from Asaba. These operatives are reportedly camped in the Ogbaru bushes, with plans to move via flying boats to disrupt polling units perceived as APGA strongholds.

Their reported staging ground is Osamara town, following a meeting at the residence of one Afam Odogwu.

Chief Linus Ukachukwu is reported to be the major coordinator of the militia groups, with many stationed at a hotel in Nnewi south as well as his residence at Osumenyi. Uche Ekwunife is reported to have imported 150 thugs into Nri/Anaocha LGA as she fights dirty to at least win her ward.

Aworgu, working with a political ally named Tony Uche, has reportedly designed an operation to forcibly seize control of INEC personnel and materials in Ogbaru LGA. Investigators say they are receiving logistical support from a senior INEC official in Abuja identified as Ibrahim.

If attempts at direct result falsification meet resistance, the group allegedly pivoted toward exploiting backend vulnerabilities.

An aide to the campaign, Onyedika Chukwuma, reportedly received assurances from an Electoral Officer that BVAS could be bypassed using compliant Presiding Officers in Nnewi North—a plan believed to be extendable to other LGAs.

Further intelligence indicates that Ejidike is collaborating with one Bala Muhammad Dukakwa to recruit and compromise EOs across Anambra State. A compiled list of targeted officers—many of whom recently participated in INEC training—has reportedly been traced to hotel accommodations allegedly funded by Ukachukwu.

The INEC leadership and security agencies should urgently investigate the above and take immediate action. Anambra governorship election is too important for anyone to toy with.
