Super Falcons Floored Mali with Late Goals
The Super Falcons of Nigeria has extended their unbeaten record by conquering their Malian counterpart yesterday, September 15, 2021. The win came with two late goals.
The football draw, played on Wednesday, was the first game of the Aisha Buhari Invitational Women’s Tournament – Aisha Buhari Cup, an invitational tournament in the name of Nigeria’s First Lady.
The first half ended on a goalless pace as both team keep their slate neat. However, Randy Waldrum girls double-up at 83th and 89th minutes to see the team winning their first game in the tournament.
The Robo Queen FC’s striker, Gift Monday scored both goals for Super Falcons, assisted by superstar Asisat Oshoala.
Some of the dignitaries present at the remodeled Mobolaji Johnson Arena- formely Onikan Stadium Lagos include Gianni Infantino, president of the world football governing body FIFA and Patrice Motsepe of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The Falcons will on Tuesday, September 21, take on South Africa at the same venue to extend their victory tour.
