Fire guts Kano market

A fire outbreak has gutted the popular Singer market (Kasuwar Singer) located in the Kano State metropolis in the early hours of Tuesday. Singer market is the largest market in the state where essential commodities like sugar, rice, millet, detergent, and other consumable products are sold.
This is coming five days after a fire destroyed Badume market in the Bichi Local Government Area of the state. Efforts to contact the Public Relations Officer of the State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, failed as calls made to his telephone did not go through.
As of the time of this report, no fewer than five firefighting vehicles were deployed to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjacent shops within the market.
