Falcons won’t take Morocco lightly, says Waldrum

Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum has said that his team would not take the semifinal tie against host Morocco lightly today at the ongoing Women’s African Cup of Nations in Rabat. Waldrum who is still excited about the prospect of leading Falcons to the 2023 FIFA World Cup believed they are ready to silent the home fans.

“I saw Morocco last year in September and I am impressed with the kind of football they play. Their football is outstanding and how they have been able to develop the game. We have a big challenge and we won’t take the game lightly. We have respect for them,” the American said.

He is however, excited about the players’ fitness. “We took Plumptre off in the game against Cameroon because she didn’t play the previous two games. Fortunately, all our players are healthy for tomorrow’s game including Plumptre,” he added.

Also midfielder Ngozi Okobi is poised to hurt the Moroccans.“We have been able to recover after the quarter final game and we are good to go against Morocco. I am not bothered about our opponent, host or not, it is the same football. We are ready,” she said.
