Gunmen kidnap Niger Commissioner of Information

Niger State Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Mr. Mohammed Idris, was on Sunday kidnapped by unknown gunmen at Baban Tunga Village of Tarfa Local Government Area of the state.
The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Ahmed Matane, confirmed the situation, according to him, the gunmen who came on about fifteen motorcycles with sophisticated weapons kidnapped the commissioner at about 11 pm during a downpour in the area.
He mentioned that the kidnappers are yet to make contact.
Also, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, confirmed the incident to NAN and promised to provide more information concerning the incident later.
