The Edo State government, in cooperation with the Bank of Industry, has sent offer letters to 31 enterprises that have been examined and chosen to benefit from the N2 billion Edo State MSME Fund.
Governor Godwin Obaseki established the Edo State MSME Fund to assist qualifying Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in Edo State with financial and support services.
The investment is envisaged to benefit over 50,000 firms in Edo State.
Seebuck Leather Ventures, Prospect Farms, MS Above Enterprise, EDHIR Global Nigeria, and Global Ehimax Trading are a few of the companies that received the funding.
Mrs. Ukinebo Dare, Managing Director of the Edo State Skills Development Agency (EDOJOBS), who spoke on behalf of Governor Godwin Obaseki at the handing over of the offer letters, said the fund is the result of collaboration between the Edo State Government and the Bank of Industry to help grow and develop businesses in the state.
She also advised entrepreneurs to take use of the government’s various initiatives to boost economic activity in the state, such as the Edo Online Marketplace on Konga, where they may advertise and sell their wares.
Dare, the State Manager of the Bank of Industry (BOI), Mr. Christopher Omogiade, and the Edo State MSME Project Coordinator, Mr. Collins Idiahi, handed the offer letters to the recipients.
The next phase, according to Omogiade, entailed the production and filing of attestation and acceptance letters for legal assistance.
He praised the Edo State government for not giving up on its efforts to create jobs and promote industry.
